Mindy has been with the College of Charleston since 1991 and has served in a variety of areas including the Career Center, Financial Assistance & Veterans Affairs, Undergraduate Studies, Orientation, New Student Programs, Center for Academic Performance and Persistence (formerly Undergraduate Academic Services), and the Registrar. In her current role as Assistant Vice President of First Year & Bridge Student Services, she directs the Charleston Bridge program and the Office of New Student Programs.

Mindy serves as a mentor for faculty preparing to teach online and a Learning Strategies instructor. She is also one of the authors of Destination Success, an academic recovery textbook to help students develop the skills they need to become successful. Mindy co-chairs the Institutional Assessment Committee and served as one of the primary writers for the SACSCOC reaffirmation of accreditation process. Other areas of professional involvement include working with parents, family orientation, and serving on various committees across the divisions such as the Quality Enhancement Planning Committee, the Charleston Bridge Planning Committee, and the Human Resources Staff Grievance Committee. Mindy’s priority is creating a professional environment for all Academic Experience staff that promotes diversity, respect, collaboration, and growth.

Mindy’s undergraduate education includes a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration & Marketing from Charleston Southern University (formerly Baptist College), Masters of Education in Clinical Counseling from The Citadel with additional coursework in Secondary Education with a concentration in English, and work completed in the Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership program from the University of Phoenix.
