Karen Hauschild serves as the Director of the Academic Advising and Planning Center at the College of Charleston where she has the privilege of working with a dedicated and passionate team of individuals who enjoy working with and impacting students and their success. Karen served as the NACADA Region 3 (NC,SC,KY, TN, WVA) chair from 2019-2021 and most recently is serving as a Faculty Intern fo the NACADA Administrators' Institute in February 2022. Karen received her Bachelor of Arts from Radford University in Speech Communication: Radio/TV and her Master of Arts from Appalachian State University in Student Development.
Prior to arriving at the College of Charleston in February 2013, Karen has worked in a variety of capacities at UT-Knoxville, University of South Dakota and UNC-Chapel Hill as a professional Hall Director in Residence Life, a Freshman Seminar Instructor and Academic Advisor. From August 2000- January 2013, Karen worked in the First Year College (FYC) at NC State University and served as an advisor, instructor and administrator.
