iCharleston Fall 2022 Courses
All courses in the iCharleston program transfer into College of Charleston provided students receive a grade of C or higher. This follows the U.S. national standards for transfer policy with regard to college academic credit. Courses in iCharleston can satisfy graduation and general education requirements. (Please note: only academic credit will transfer, not the course letter grade or GPA.)
All students are required to register for five classes during their fall semester abroad, which is the equivalent of 15 academic credits, or full-time standing. At each destination (London, Dublin and Rome) there are two required courses that each student will register for during the fall semester. One of those courses focuses on local/national culture so that students can learn more about where they are living and studying that fall semester. (The Site Director will sit in on this class to model classroom success and engage with some of the academic material students are learning about.)
The remaining courses come from a specified list of classes at each partner institution. These courses have been developed to take advantage of the experiential opportunities existing there. For instance, in Dublin, one course is "The Art and Architcture of Ireland." In Rome, one course is "The Art of Rome."
